We strive to promote and support the well-being of young children, their parents and families.
For over 15 years, we have focused our clinical work on helping parents and young children with achieving developmental and mental health well-being. Our goal is to help parents to be optimal, especially as it relates to their mental health and parenting experiences by building their parenting capacities, confidence, and helping to navigate their individual and parenting journey. We are also committed to supporting the well-being and development of young children and healthy parent-child relationships.
Many people experience challenging times in their lives, specifically as related to parenting stressor and adjustment. In individual counseling, you will have opportunities to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in your life. Together we will explore feelings, beliefs and behaviors that are impacting you personally and in your relationship with your partner and child. We will also work through challenging experiences and identify aspects of your life that you would like to change or better understand. Finally, we will set goals to work toward positive change.
Every couple experiences highs and lows in their relationships. The lows can seem particularly challenging when young children are involved. Challenges in your personal relationship and differences in parenting styles, goals and expectations can really put a strain on your relationship. In couples counseling we will work together to explore, recognize and resolve conflicts that will help to improve your relationship and togetherness, especially as it relates to parenting, whether you decided to stay together or go your separate ways.
Parent - Child Therapy
Whether you participate in services individually, as a couple, with your child, or as a family, our goal is to support you and your child’s mental health and well-being. Being equipped to support your needs and the needs of your child(ren) will help you to develop strong and healthy connections that will follow you and your child(ren) for a lifetime. It will also help to reduce the long-term effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) for you and your child(ren).
Our work will be done mostly through play-based activities that will support your child's social and emotional development, your parenting confidence, help you to feel more bonded with your child, support your child's attachment to you, and support healthy parent-child relationships. As part of our assesment, we will do a developmental screening and assessment to gain an understanding of your child's developmental needs, in order to develop specific goals and support their needs based on their developmental levels and functioning.
Parenting Coaching and Consultation
Because parenting can be an overwhelming and daunting experience, we also provide coaching and consultation related to parenting. When doing coaching and consultation, we will typically discuss specific situations or stressors and utilize various elements of parenting psycho-educational programs and curriculum.
If you think you or your child could benefit from counseling or for more information, call us for a no-cost consultation!
